Fake Film Meme: Brutus starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Fassbender, and Mark Gatiss

Brutus is a retelling of the assassination of Julius Caesar set in the modern day. Jack Caesar (Benedict Cumberbatch) is the emperor of the United States, put in place after leading the winning army to a victory in the Second American Civil War. His best friend and right hand man is Mark Brutus (Michael Fassbender). Brutus was sentenced to death after siding with the losing army during the civil war, but Caesar, seeing his potential saved him and made him a top ranking member of his team. The two men are predicted to lead the United States back into a golden age, something that many believed would not be possible following the decimation of the country. Sebastian Casca (Mark Gatiss) is a member of Caesar’s Senate and has been allied with Caesar since his beginning as a lowly general but has secretly been making plans to unseat him. The film follows the days leading up to Caesar’s assassination and explores why Brutus turned on the one man who saved him from certain death.
